DILG XI conducted the 2025 BNEO GREAT Barangays Program Training on Basic Local Legislation, Parliamentary Procedure, and Alternative Dispute Resolution on November 17–19, 2025 at The Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases, Davao City. The three-day activity gathered select Punong Barangays, Sangguniang Barangay Members, and Barangay Secretaries identified through the latest Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) results.
The training strengthened officials’ competencies in drafting and enacting legislation, ensuring orderly and transparent sessions through parliamentary procedure, and managing community conflicts through Alternative Dispute Resolution and Katarungang Pambarangay mechanisms. Sessions also covered foundational principles on gender, children’s rights, and the rights of Indigenous Peoples—reinforcing the importance of inclusive and rights-based local governance.
Participants further enhanced their mediation and conciliation skills while promoting teamwork and accountability within their respective Sanggunians. The initiative underscores DILG XI’s commitment to building empowered, responsive, and harmonized barangay leadership across the region.
